This Privacy Policy describes how Honest By Trade, a business unit of JQuant Labs ("Honest By Trade," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with your use of honestbytrade.com (the "Site") and any related services (the "Service"). This Policy is intended to comply with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA"), and, where applicable, U.S. state privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Information you provide directly: business name, contact email, phone number, website URL, and listing description, submitted when you create or manage a Spotlight subscription.
• Payment information: we do not collect or store full payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. Stripe's own privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.
• Automatically collected information: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected via Cloudflare's infrastructure logs and any analytics tools we may use.
• Homeowner search queries: if you use the Site's search function as a visitor, the service or city terms you search for may be processed to return relevant results, but are not linked to any personal identity unless you separately submit contact information.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to: (a) operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Service; (b) process subscription payments and manage billing through Stripe; (c) display your business listing where applicable; (d) communicate with you regarding your subscription, including billing notices and service updates; and (e) comply with legal obligations.

3. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers: including Stripe (payment processing) and Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and infrastructure), each of whom processes data on our behalf and is contractually obligated to protect it.
• Legal compliance: where required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Honest By Trade, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

Business listing information you submit (business name, phone, website, description) is displayed publicly on the Site as part of the Service you have purchased — this is not a privacy disclosure but the intended function of the Spotlight listing.

4. Data Retention

We retain business listing and billing-related information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, or as otherwise required by law.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including relying on Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure for payment data and Cloudflare's secure hosting infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may cancel your subscription and remove your listing at any time via honestbytrade.com/manage. To make a data request outside of that self-serve process, contact us using the information provided on the Site.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The Site may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and, where applicable, analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect certain Site functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site and Service are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Users

Honest By Trade operates from Canada. If you access the Site from outside Canada, including from the United States, your information may be processed and stored in Canada or in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
